SUMMARY
The Record Breaker Chronicle is a story of athleticism, travel, art and architecture, mental health, and perseverance. A young Midwestern boy is raised as a wrestling champion and pole-vaulting hopeful. After high school, he drives west to Northern California to live with his geologist father. After spending a summer as a beach bum on the southeastern coast of Mallorca, the young man turns his passion for high school sports into a promising architectural education in NYC. After a semester abroad in Rome, Italy, he backpacks through Europe for a summer. After finishing his degree, he moves to Portugal to start a family. With little success, he travels to America, looking for the ideal job to support his wife and son. The story ignites when he is committed to a psychiatric hospital for several years. He discovers mindfulness and battles mental illness for fatherhood and a no-quit attitude, ending in a symphony of suspense and achievement.
